Description
Quality level: Spätlese
Grape: Riesling
Village: Zeltingen, Mosel region
Vineyard: Schlossberg, a south- southwest and southeast facing, steep slope right behind the center part of the village. Classified in categories 1 and 2 of total 9 quality categories in the 1868 Prussian tax map.
Tasting note: On the nose, scents of ripe, yellow fruit and a good dose of crushed slate rocks. On the palate a mix of ripe fruit, hints of herbs and honey and again a “salty” minerality. Shows the beginning of attractive secondary Riesling aromas.
Serve with: Neither “loud” nor “fat”, this dry Riesling goes well with virtually everything where an elegant, crisp, unoaked dry wine is called for.
Serving temperature: Serve slightly chilled (9- 11° C)
