The yellow colour with flashes of green heralds an expressive, fine nose combining the fragrances of orange blossom, spices and fudge. The smooth initial taste develops into soft sweetness on the palate backed by the freshness of the vintage, recalling the aromas found on the nose now reinforced by the roasted notes of the botrytis. The refreshing, aromatic character of the long finish is particularly pleasing. The 2004 Castelnau, crafted after stringent selection, is well made and already inviting.
